To be able to use Wireshark as an ordinary user, the 'dumpcap' program
must be installed setuid root. This module module simplifies such a
configuration to simply:
programs.wireshark.enable = true;
The setuid wrapper is available for users in the 'wireshark' group.
Changes v1 -> v2:
- add "defaultText" to the programs.wireshark.package option (AFAIK,
that prevents the manual from being needlessly rebuilt when the
package changes)
The GeoIP databases from MaxMind have no stable URLs and change every
month (or so). Our current method of packaging these database in Nix and
playing catch-up with ever-changing file hashes is a bad idea. For
instance, it makes it impossible to realize old NixOS configurations.
This patch adds a NixOS service that periodically updates the GeoIP
databases in /var/lib/geoip-databases. Moving NixOS modules over can be
done in later patches.
I tried adding MD5 check, but not all databases have them, so i skipped
it. We are downloading over HTTPS though, it should be good. I also
tried adding zip support, but the first zip file I extracted had a
different filename inside than the archive name, which breaks an
assumption in this service, so I skipped that too.
Changes v9 -> v10:
- Pass "--max-time" to curl to set upper bound on downloads (ensures
no indefinite hanging if there's problem with networking).
Timeout for network connectivity check: 60s.
Timeout for geoip database (each): 15m.
Changes v8 -> v9:
- Mention the random timer delay in the documentation for the
'interval' option.
Changes v7 -> v8:
- Add "RemainAfterExit=true" for the setup service, so it won't be
restarted needlessly. (Thanks @danbst!)
Changes v6 -> v7:
- Add --skip-existing flag to geoip-updater, which skips updating
existing database files. Pass that flag when we run the service on
boot (and on any NixOS configuration change).
(IMHO, this is somewhat a workaround for systemd persistent timers
not being triggered immediately when a timer has never expired
before. But it does have the nice side effect of ensuring that the
installed databases always correspond to the configured ones, since
the service is now always run after configuration changes.)
Changes v5 -> v6:
- Update database files atomically (per DB)
- If a database is removed from the configuration, it'll be removed
from /var/lib/geoip-databases too (on next run).
- Add NixOS module assertion so that if user inputs non- .gz or .xz
file there will be a build time error instead of runtime.
- Run updater as user "nobody" instead of "root".
- Rename NixOS service from "geoip-databases" to "geoip-updater".
- Drop RemainAfterExit, or else the timer won't trigger the unit.
- Bring back "curl --fail", or else we won't catch and log curl
failures.
Changes v4 -> v5:
- Add "GeoLite2-City.mmdb.gz" to default database list.
Changes v3 -> v4:
- Remove unneeded geoip-updater-setup.service after adding
'wantedBy = [ "multi-user.target" ]' directly to
geoip-updater.service
- Drop unneeded "Service" name from service descriptions.
Changes v2 -> v3:
- Network may be down when starting from a cold boot, so try a few
times. Possibly, if using systemd-networkd, it'll pass on the first
try. But with default DHCP on NixOS, the service is started before
hostnames can be resolved and thus we need a few extra seconds.
- Add error handling and mark service as failed if fatal error.
- Add proper syslog log levels.
- Add RandomizedDelaySec=3600 to the timer to not put high load on the
MaxMind servers. Suggested by @Mic92.
- Set RemainAfterExit on geoip-updater.service instead of
geoip-updater-setup.service. (The latter is only a proxy that pulls
in the former service).
Changes v1 -> v2:
From Данило Глинський (Danylo Hlynskyi) <abcz2.uprola@gmail.com>:
nixos/geoip-databases: add `databases` option and fix initial setup
There were two great issues when using this service:
- When you just enable service, databases aren't downloaded, they are
downloaded when timer triggers. Fixed this with automatic download on
first system activation.
- When there is no internet, updater outputs nothing to logs, which is
IMO misbehavior. Fixed this with removing `--fail` option, better be
explicit here.
A very simple skeleton for now that doesn't attempt to model any of
the agent configuration, but we can grow it later. Tested and works
on an EC2 instance with ECS.

This commit introduces a nixos module for the Openstack Keystone
service. It also provides a optional bootstrap step that creates some
basic initial resources (tenants, endpoints,...).
The provided test starts Keystone by enabling bootstrapping and checks
if user creation works well.
This commit is based on initial works made by domenkozar.

The services/networking directory is already quite polluted and the
first point where I was looking for the offlineimap module was in
services/mail and didn't find it there.
Offlineimap already has IMAP in its name and clearly belongs to the
"mail" category so let's move it there.
Tested by evaluating a configuration with services.offlineimap enabled.

gdnc is a user process and can't be made into a NixOS module very
easily. It can still be put in the user's login script. According to the
GNUstep documentation it will be started as soon as it is needed.
It uses import-from-derivation, which is a bad thing, because this
causes hydra-evaluator to build Cassandra at evaluation time.
$ nix-instantiate nixos/release.nix -A tests.cassandra.i686-linux --dry-run
error: cannot read ‘/nix/store/c41blyjz6pfvk9fnvrn6miihq5w3j0l4-cassandra-2.0.16/conf/cassandra-env.sh’, since path ‘/nix/store/0j9ax4z8xhaz5lhrwl3bwj10waxs3hgy-cassandra-2.0.16.drv’ is not valid, at /home/eelco/Dev/nixpkgs/nixos/modules/services/databases/cassandra.nix:373:11
Also, the module is a mess (bad option descriptions, poor indentation,
a gazillion options where a generic "config" option would suffice, it
opens ports in the firewall, it sets vm.swappiness, ...).
From @fpletz: Keep poolConfigs option for backwards-compatibility.
The original commit 6b3f5b5a42 was previously
reverted by c7860cae1a but the issues were
resolved.
Closes#17460
Changed the wrapper derivation to produce a second output containing the sandbox.
Add a launch wrapper to try and locate the sandbox (either in /var/setuid-wrappers or in /nix/store).
This launch wrapper also sheds libredirect.so from LD_PRELOAD as Chromium does not tolerate it.
Does not trigger a Chromium rebuild.

The module will configure a Cassandra server with common options being
tweakable. Included is also a test which will spin up 3 nodes and
verify that the cluster can be formed, broken, and repaired.
This reverts commit 6b3f5b5a42 because it
introduced a non-backwards compatible change in the phpfpm interface,
without really needing to. The new interface, if needed, can be re-added
alongside the old interface.
Commit 98e419c0e2 ("tt-rss service: init at 16.3")
depends on the new interface, so this commit updates the tt-rss service
to work with the old services.phpfpm.poolConfigs interface.

The intent was not to maintain hydra expression at two places.
Nowadays we have enough devs to maintain this despite copy/pasta.
This should encourage more people to use Hydra, which is a really
great piece of software together with Nix.
Tested a deploy using https://github.com/peti/hydra-tutorial
This command was useful when NixOS was spread across multiple
repositories, but now it's pretty pointless (and obfuscates what
happens, i.e. "git clone git://github.com/NixOS/nixpkgs.git").
This adds a Taskserver module along with documentation and a small
helper tool which eases managing a custom CA along with Taskserver
organisations, users and groups.
Taskserver is the server component of Taskwarrior, a TODO list
application for the command line.
The work has been started by @matthiasbeyer back in mid 2015 and I have
continued to work on it recently, so this merge contains commits from
both of us.
Thanks particularly to @nbp and @matthiasbeyer for reviewing and
suggesting improvements.
I've tested this with the new test (nixos/tests/taskserver.nix) this
branch adds and it fails because of the changes introduced by the
closure-size branch, so we need to do additional work on base of this.
This module adds support for defining a flexget service.
Due to flexget insisting on being able to write all over where it finds
its configuration file, we use a ExecStartPre hook to copy the generated
configuration file into place under the user's home. It's fairly ugly
and I'm very open to suggestions
This module adds an option `security.hideProcessInformation` that, when
enabled, restricts access to process information such as command-line
arguments to the process owner. The module adds a static group "proc"
whose members are exempt from process information hiding.
Ideally, this feature would be implemented by simply adding the
appropriate mount options to `fileSystems."/proc".fsOptions`, but this
was found to not work in vmtests. To ensure that process information
hiding is enforced, we use a systemd service unit that remounts `/proc`
after `systemd-remount-fs.service` has completed.
To verify the correctness of the feature, simple tests were added to
nixos/tests/misc: the test ensures that unprivileged users cannot see
process information owned by another user, while members of "proc" CAN.
Thanks to @abbradar for feedback and suggestions.
With a cluttered up module source it's really a pain to navigate through
it, so it's a good idea to put it into another file.
No changes in functionality here, just splitting up the files and fixing
references.

This basic module allows you to specify the tmux configuration.
As great as tmux is, some of the defaults are pretty awful, so having a
way to specify the config really helps.
- services.iodined moved to services.iodine
- configuration file backwards compatable
- old iodine server configuration moved to services.iodine.server
- attribute set services.iodine.clients added to specify any number
of iodine clients
- example:
iodine.clients.home = { server = "iodinesubdomain.yourserver.com"; ... };
- client services names iodine-name where name would be home
- Enforce that an option declaration has a "defaultText" if and only if the
type of the option derives from "package", "packageSet" or "nixpkgsConfig"
and if a "default" attribute is defined.
- Enforce that the value of the "example" attribute is wrapped with "literalExample"
if the type of the option derives from "package", "packageSet" or "nixpkgsConfig".
- Warn if a "defaultText" is defined in an option declaration if the type of
the option does not derive from "package", "packageSet" or "nixpkgsConfig".
- Warn if no "type" is defined in an option declaration.
Both Qt and GTK load plugins from the active profiles
automatically, so it is sufficient to install input methods
system-wide. Overriding the plugin paths may interfere with correct
operation of other plugins.
Add a module to make options to pam_oath module configurable.
These are:
- enable - enable the OATH pam module
- window - number of OTPs to check
- digits - length of the OTP (adds support for two-factor auth)
- usersFile - filename to store OATH credentials in
The Bitmessage protocol v3 became mandatory on 16 Nov 2014 and notbit does not support it, nor has there been any activity in the project repository since then.

closes#5331
Adds a new service module for shairport-sync. Tested with a local
and remote pulseaudio server. Needs to be run as a user in the pulse group
to access pulseaudio.
This new service invokes `simp_le` for a defined set of certs on a regular
basis with a systemd timer. `simp_le` is smart enough to handle account
registration, domain validation and renewal on its own. The only thing
required is an existing HTTP server that serves the path
`/.well-known/acme-challenge` from the webroot cert parameter.
Example:
services.simp_le.certs."foo.example.com" = {
webroot = "/var/www/challenges";
extraDomains = [ "www.example.com" ];
email = "foo@example.com";
validMin = 2592000;
renewInterval = "weekly";
};
Example Nginx vhost:
services.nginx.appendConfig = ''
http {
server {
server_name _;
listen 80;
listen [::]:80;
location /.well-known/acme-challenge {
root /var/www/challenges;
}
location / {
return 301 https://$host$request_uri;
}
}
}
'';
This module implements a way to start one or more bepasty servers.
It supports configuring the listen address of gunicorn and how bepasty
behaves internally.
Configuring multiple bepasty servers provides a way to serve pastes externally
without authentication and provide creating,listing,deleting pastes interally.
nginx can be used to provide access via hostname + listen address.
`configuration.nix`:
services.bepasty = {
enable = true;
servers = {
internal = {
defaultPermissions = "admin,list,create,read,delete";
secretKey = "secret";
bind = "127.0.0.1:8000";
};
external = {
defaultPermissions = "read";
bind = "127.0.0.1:8001";
secretKey = "another-secret";
};
};
};
This option allows to define (declarative) Jenkins jobs, using Jenkins
Job Builder (JJB) as backend.
Example:
services.jenkins = {
enable = true;
jobBuilder = {
enable = true;
yamlJobs = ''
- job:
name: jenkins-job-test
builders:
- shell: echo 'Hello world!'
'';
};
};
Jobs can be defined using YAML, JSON and Nix.
Note that it really is declarative configuration; if you remove a
previously defined job, the module will remove the jobdir under
$JENKINS_HOME.
Jobs managed through the Jenkins WebUI (or by other means) are not
touched by this module.
Changes v1 -> v2:
* add nixJobs
* let jsonJobs take a list of strings (allows merge)
* 4 space indent in shell code
